i'm alive and ok

thank you to everyone who has wondered about me and said they missed me! i have been upset at mom for not helping me update my blog for awhile now. she is SO lazy. she keeps making excuses like the baby takes up a lot of her time or she needs to work out or she is tired. whatever. although i think i decided to forgive her today...

Maggie came to visit!

Maggie came over to visit me and Copper!! I played ok with her and Copper was...well lets just say he was way to excited and had to be restrained. I think she and I will be good friends!

don't worry, miriam was not harmed in the taking of this picture. that said look how ferocious i look!!!! grrrrrr! mom was taking pictures of miriam and us and then we just started PLAYING!!! she was kinda proud of this shot, she loves the look on miriam's face!

copper has to go home on monday. sad. we have tons of fun BUT mom doesn't pay much attention to us when miriam is awake. she tells us to go away! well mom, if you're sitting on the floor with miriam that is international dogspeak for "play with the dogs!" i don't care if you are playing with miram! we want to lick her face and we are SICK AND TIRED of being told NO when we try and help her play with her toys. really that's all we are doing! we aren't trying to take them away from her so WE can play with them. we are helping! i promise. so let us help already.

HULA horka

well dogfriends and girl girl, we have been busy i am sorry i have not posted about our joint dogventures! copper has been mopey cause he misses his mom a lot. but my mom and dad have been trying to love him a lot to help him feel better. so here are some notes about our fun times together.

well we have to stay in the bathroom when they leave the house. ivy, here is another baby tip...when the people put the baby in the car seat that means they are leaving! we go and hide the second that mom goes near that thing! we do get a treat (or cookie as copper calls it) when we have to be imprisoned in there. its ok mom puts gives us lots of blankets so its comfy. but at night we have to go in copper's zip-up kennel. it looks like this...

although his doesn't have that cool toy pocket (maybe copper needs a new kennel?) and oh oh oh i just noticed i have that rope toy in that picture! cool! well anyways we get locked...er zipped up and we sleep all night long in there. when we are at our people's homes we sleep in bed under the covers all cuddled up. but for some reason we get locked together away from the love and attention of our moms and dads whenever we are staying at each other's houses. i think it might have to do with the fact that we chase after nixon at his slightest movement and i guess they don't want us chasing him around in the middle of the night. whatever.

oh, copper keeps getting in trouble for stealing miriam's toys and chewing on them. so far he hasn't done any destruction, he just won't learn i guess. i mean they are in the floor on her play mat just waiting for someone or somepuppy to play with them!

oh and i did the horka on mom and dad's bed this morning after they got up. i don't know why i did it but it definately was a HULA move since mom is now washing ALL of the bedding from the comforter to the sheets and even the mattress pad. i rock!

we are shy

well we are shy. yup shy. if we met any of you wonderful dogs or hamsters we would run and hide in a corner. yup we are lame. but we love each other! so we went to the richmond dachsie meetup this saturday. my mom and dad got miriam all ready and put us dogs in the car and we were ready for some fun! well as you can see by this video it didn't go so well. tadpole had a similar experience except he actually walked around and smelled stuff. we stood behind mom and dad. and of course miriam was cranky, mom thought she might be getting a tooth, but she's not so sure anymore. gosh, they get teeth!? is she going to want to bite me? i sure hope not. by the way everydog and girl girl and especially ivy, you are NOT allowed to run over babies. just thought i would let you know this little fact. if something needs to be barked at you need to run AROUND the baby laying on the floor on her playmat, no OVER her. cause you will hit her with your feets and then she wil cry and then the mom will NOT be happy. yeah copper did that. i did not, i am a good boy and i would never do that to miriam, but copper did! and he got in trouble. so watch this video and see how lame we are!

a doglet saves the day

well this is an awesome story of a doglet who saves the day!! a side story about what a doglet is in case you are wondering. my dad grew up with big dogs and when he and mom got me he thought i was too small to be a real dog, since he only knew big dogs. so he called me a doglet. well this doglet is a super hero chihuahua!!! i promise i would protect miriam like this, really i would! and i know ivy would protect her little baby brother too, cause ivy is the sweetest.

Booker West was splashing his hands in a birdbath in his grandparents’ northern Colorado back yard when the snake slithered up to the toddler, rattled and struck. Five-pound Zoey jumped in the way and took the bites.
“She got in between Booker and the snake, and that’s when I heard her yipe,” Monty Long, the boy’s grandfather, said Thursday.
The dog required treatment and for a time it appeared she might not survive. Now she prances about.
“These little bitty dogs, they just don’t really get credit,” Booker’s grandma Denise Long told the Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald.

hey everydog and girl girl! guess what time it is??? COPPER TIME!! dad is going on a big trip to france and since mom can't go :( she is going to GA to stay with copper's mom and my daddy's mom. i will be gone for 3 weeks!! and guess what guess what!!!!!!

COPPER IS COMING HOME WITH ME!!!!!!!

yes, his mom and dad are going to visit the boy who used to be little and live with copper's mom (my mom's brother) and he's the one with 2 cats. so copper can't go, so he gets to come home with MEEEEE! and he just might stay for a WHOLE MONTH!! cause my mom and dad are going back to augusta in september for labor day, she we will take copper home then.

introductions!

well everydog and girl girl...i would like to introduce you to a new friend of mine! her name is maggie and she is a baby mini dachshund. she is only 10 weeks old! i told her she should start a blog, so she did! please go visit her and make her feel welcome she is sooooo cute!

since her mom works with my dad, her mom goes on long trips around the world like my dad so when her mom goes on trips she gets to stay with me! i really liked her, i wanted to play with her SO BAD!! but she was so small mom thought i was going to clobber her. oh, and if my last post didn't show the toy injustice in my life, mom gave maggie two of my toys!!! she said i had two identical balls and two identical rope toys so she gave her one of each. (mom secretly told me after reading all your comments she has decided to give me one her toys!!!! she hasn't decided which one yet though)

asymmetry

i would like to draw your attention to a little bit of asymmetry in my life. on the left you will see miriam's vast quantity of stuffed toys and on the right you will see my paltry collection. i think this is a huge injustice! most of her toys squeak or rattle or make cool crunchy noises and some even play songs! half of mine squeak but i made the decision to stop their squeaking through a series of delicate operations. miriams toys are singing a siren's song to me, i hear their song at night. they call, "heeeeersheeeeeeeey...come chew on meeeeee...i need a tuuuuuummy tuck" its more than i can bear! (haha...i made a pun!) anyways, i need more toys! something is wrong here. i think mom should let us share! i mean she doesn't DO anything with them right now anyways! and by the time she is old enough to really play with them i will have redecorated them to her liking. i am sure she will appreciate the dismemberments, decapitations, and various plastic surgeries i will perform on them.

lots to blog about...but no pictures!

well there has been a lot of stuff going on lately and mom has taken pictures BUT she has lost the cable to the camera and she needs dad to bring his work computer home so she can use the memory card slot that he has. so dad, i know you read my blog...bring your computer home!

anyways, there are lots of bunnies in my yard! i saw one eating the weeds on my gravel driveway today. dad said, "eat away little bunny!" and i said, "GET OUT OF MY YARD!!" mom said, "awww, its soooo cute!" and nixon said, "whatever...i'm going to take a nap on top of the cabinet" and miriam said, "goooo-oooo-waaaa-ahhh!" yeah, she can't talk at all! she just makes lots of noise.

and today there were HUGE buzzards right next to my yard! there is a wooded lot next to my house and some stupid person dumped a whole bunch of dead rotting fish in it right next to the road! how stupid and stinky! so there were 4 GIANT ugly buzzards eating those dead fish. mom and dad were disgusted!

tonight there are lots of neighbors making boomy noises. i'm not paying much attention to them. but they are annoying. mom says if they wake miriam up she might hurt them, what does that mean?

copper sent me my presents from luckie! i looooved my toy and my tasty "singaporian" treats, i call him panda bear. see luckie calls her's mr. brown bear. well i already have a toy called brown bear. so my present needed a new name, so he is panda bear. i take him to sleep with me, i sleep with mom and dad and nixon joins us sometimes.

oh, and everyday mom does these wierd things on the floor. she stretches and sits up and rolls over and lifts her legs. what is she doing, i mean she's lifting her legs and stuff but she's not going business i think. i tried to lay down next to her the other day and she told me to go away, she said she needed to fit into her pre-baby jeans. again, what is she talking about?

now dad is the hero!

meet ellie...

last night my dad was coming home from the store and he saw a dog almost get hit by a car. he felt that something wasn't right about this dog wandering down the street. so he stopped and was going to check her collar and call her owners. well she didn't have a tag on her collar! so he brought her home. he said he wasn't quite sure what he was going to do with her when he got home, he just knew he couldn't leave her out there. (oh, and by the way i never got to meet ellie, i hardly knew any of this was going on, i just knew mom and dad smelled like another dog!) well since the humane society and the animal shelter are closed at night and on the weekends, they decided to keep her over night cause dad found her at about 8. well they sat outside with her on my tie-out and petted her and talked over what to do. they didn't want to chance that she was a dog that roamed around and to take her back to where he found her. they didn't want to keep her in the house cause they didn't know if she was an outside dog or and inside dog or if she had fleas, would chew up stuff and plus my kennel was too small for her. so they took some big stuff out of the shed and ran a light in there and made a bed for her with towels and gave her food and water.

they knew someone loved her cause she had a really pretty collar and she was soooooo friendly! so this morning they got up reeeeallly early and took pictures of her and made a found dog poster. and so they put her on my tie-out in the back yard where there was some shade and nice grass. well they went to go put posters up but not 3 houses down they saw a lost dog poster! it was for her! her name is ellie and there was a reward. well mom and dad didn't want the reward but ellie's dad insisted. mom called and said "we have ellie!!" and ellie's mom was soooooo happy, ellie only lived to streets over! the dad said it was the first time she ever got out of the yard! and that she would have a tag TODAY! so its a happy ending!!! and a lesson to always have a tag with your information or a chip like nixon has!!

my secretary revealed...do you dare reveal yours?

my secretary (mom) has built up the guts to reveal herself. she would like to ask if you dare reveal your secretaries?? she says as she helps me read all the blogs that she always wonders who your secretaries are. what do you look like, what kind of jobs to you do, do your secretaries have non-fur babies? we all know what ivy's randy and lindsay look like and we hear your voices in your videos and see your headless bodies in pictures...so do you dare reveal yourselves! i dare you! so here is the lowdown on my mom and dad..

mom's name is kirsten and she obviously just had a baby (cause i talk about the baby a lot, believe me she is the new star around here!) she used to be a middle and high school art teacher when we lived in GA last year. she now stays home with me and the baby. her mom is copper's mom if you didn't know that either. mom is showing skinny pictures of her cause she thinks she's fat...but she did JUST have a baby!

my dad's name is mike and he is a reporter and writes about people all over the world, that's why he travels to far and distant lands like suriname, lebanon, turkenistan, azerbaijan, turkey, thailand, and soon to be paris and the french riviera (yeah, he's roughin' it for that trip!)
